Steelhead fishing well, average

STEELHEAD- The Steelhead fishing has been well, average. Most anglers are finding a couple fish, with good effort. The White river had another bout this last week and as of this writing, it's dropping. The cold weather should help lock it up. There are fish spread throughout the system and good reports are coming from the Warm Springs area. Each day is a bit different, so put your time in and you should be rewarded.

TROUT- The trout fishing has been good, with most anglers targeting steelhead. The back eddies have been fishing and a variety of caddis, and some BWO's in the mix. There are a few of the big Oct. caddis around as well. If you are nymph fishing, don't be surprised if you hook a large ocean going trout. If you do, remember there are lots of Wild steelhead around and you don't want to tax them to the point of exhaustion. The fish would be better off if you'd just break the line and sacrifice your flies, instead of possibly killing a wild fish in a long battle.
