Metolius Report

The Metolius continues to fish great. Bull trout fishing has been excellent at times. Heavy streamers and small nymphs will work. Some good patterns to use are: Flashback Pheasant Tails, Eggs, Tungsten Stonefly Nymph, San Juan Worm, Copper John, Dali Lama, Dream Catcher, and Sparkle Minnow.
Trout fishing is hit or miss. Some days bug activity can be through the roof and other days your stuck  looking at the scenery which is terrible on the Metolius. Bwo's, Caddis, October Caddis, and Midges can all be present. Bwo's have been consistently coming off typically between 12 and 4 pm. Watch the eddies carefully. There might just be a nose slurping bugs. The water level is pretty much back to normal flows. The Metolius can be a great option, especially during the middle of winter.
