Improvement on the Lower D

Well that Glacier melt really stirred up things up!! Well folks good news is to be heard. Visibility has improved significantly on the Lower Deschutes and the word on the street is there have been more hook-ups. I know conditions have been tough on the Lower Deschutes this year, but there are still Steelhead around. If you put your time in and fish hard, the chances are good that you will be rewarded. You can't catch steelhead whining and bitching. If conditions aren't ideal, we as steelhead fishermen must adapt. If water clarity is off maybe we fish a sink tip and a dark black leech. There are some big hot fish in the river this year that can make everything worth it. I have heard of people still catching them down below Maupin this time of year which can be a great way to get away from some people. Warm Springs is fishing well too. Get on out as November tends to be a little more quiet and hopefully water conditions will completely get back to normal soon.
