There are still plenty of Steelhead available on the Lower Deschutes. Anglers have been reporting decent catches in the Warm Springs area and all the way down to Maupin. Although we long for the chrome rockets of July and August, most fish are still in decent shape and will take a swung fly. The water temps are cool and the air temps can be hard to handle, but if you have the right gear and waders that don't leak, you can have some great days on an uncrowded river.
