Eggs and Flesh Flies on the Met

Kokanee are currently spawning in the Metolius which will produce a good food source for the many species of fish that live in the Met. This means egg patterns and flesh flies are good patterns to fish. Be careful not to step in redds or where the Kokanee are spawing. Look to fish downstream behind the spawning Kokanee, as the rainbows and bull trout should be there feeding. Hatches have also been coming off in the late afternoons and early evenings. Small Caddis, Pmd's, and Bwo's will be some of the main insects hatching. Nymphing is an option anytime of the day. With that said, this is a great time to fish the Metolius River.
