Even the Met is a bit high

The Metolius is still a bit high with lots of water coming from tributaries. The higher you fish in the system the better the water will be. Remember that above Allingham Bridge the river is closed. There was some good reports from both Trout anglers and those chasing the big Bull's, before the water got a bit high. BWO hatches should be around 1pm, so make sure your set up and waiting for this to happen by your favorite pool. It's wise to be patient and wait. Continuously casting over these spots will keep fish down, even if the bugs are out in full force. Wait for a fish to show and make one good cast to it. If that fish refuses, change flies and repeat. If again you get a refusal, wait for another rise and let him have it again. For those chasing Bull Trout, large streamers will cover water and usually entice a response. If you have found a few fish, but they are unwilling to take the streamer, try dead drifting a stonefly nymph and good sized copper john by their nose, this sometimes makes the difference.
