This is the Place

The Fall is our best trout fishing option right now. Without influence from tributaries and being a spring creek, the flows will remain stable, even when other rivers are ripping. The BWO hatches should be in the early afternoon and midges are always an option. There are good numbers of fish around the hatchery, but for the more adventurous, head upstream and look for pods of fish near downed trees and along undercuts. There is always an option to strip streamers, if nothing else gets their attention. This river can cause some serious frustration, being so clear, but try and keep a low profile and approach fish from the downstream side. Once you have their position, plan your approach wisely and make the best presentation possible. If you spook'em let the pool rest for a bit before casting again.
