The Fall continues to fish well, but it's been busy

With all the water we have seen over the last weeks, the Fall has been the place to be. Being a Spring Creek and without tributary influence, the levels always are stable here. Good hatches have appeared in the early afternoon hours with a mix of Beatis and small winter stone's. Midges are usually about as well. Watch closely as individual fish might have a preference for any of those bugs. Stalk the pools cautiously and keep a low profile. This is a extremely clear spring creek without a lot of surface cover, meaning little "choppy" water to hide under. Long, light leaders are beneficial and sparse flies fished "low profile" style work well. Make presentations precise and let fish rest after a few attempts that result in refusals.
