High water has things a bit off for now

The Lower D has seen some incredible flows this week. The Moody gauge was around 20000 cfs and that is just ridiculous. As of this writing it's still coming out of the dam at 8600 cfs and that's just too much water to make it fun. When things settle, there should be some good trout fishing opportunities around the Maupin area. BWO hatches in the early afternoon and nymphing before and after should show some results. It's a fun time to be out there, as you will likely have lots of water to yourself.
