I headed out to the Crooked with Theresa and our two girls, McKenzie and Charlie for a day on the Crooked. Action on nymphs was solid for smaller fish using a size 12 CDC Bead Head Pheasant Tail and a Cracked Case Mayfly nymph. We had our best action less than a mile below the dam above and below a riffle and as well in some of the flats well below the riffle.
Fished for only a couple of hours as the water temps were fridged, but hooked over 30 fish in that short time. The largest was only 12 inches or so, but it was some really fun action on a 8 foot 3 weight Sage XP that I had custom built.
Oh...and not to worry, Charlie didn't hurt the fish in her mouth as she has a very soft mouth like any Labrador should!
