Warm Springs to Trout Creek with the Burch's

I had the great pleasure of guiding Larry and Pat Burch from Warm Springs to Trout Creek on Thursday, May 24th.  The day started a bit slowly around Mecca Flats, but just after noon, we started to see some good action on our top-water offerings down at Lower Mecca.  We were getting decent action on a white-winged Chubby Chernobyl and as well some more "elusive" takes on the black and brown Jimmy Leg's that we had nymph-rigged below.

Before we stopped for lunch, we had to take a look where I caught a couple of 20+ inchers yesterday to see if we could entice anyone to take a look at our offerings.  Larry did get one big guy to come to the surface after his Chubby Chernobyl, but he didn't take it well enough to hook up on him.  Lunch spots were hard to find with the Memorial Day crowds starting to fill the river banks, but we were able to find a nice little spot nevertheless.

After lunch, we continued our instruction with Pat while we let Larry continue to catch fish.  The biggest of the day was only 16-inches, but there was plenty of action to make it a fun and fulfilling day.  Larry was able to entice many fish to the surface throughout the day and we finally got Pat into a nice fish in a pool in the Hawaiian Islands where she rose 4 fish and finally hooked the last one after a bit of intensive hook-setting instruction.
