It's gonna go off soon!

Crane anglers are finding a bit of success, but things are still a bit chilly. The late winter has held on and is delaying the off the hook fishing we should have up here this season. Last year by the first week of June we were catching good numbers of fish and big guys too. As soon as mother nature puts a few back to back warm days, the fishing should pick up. Anglers are finding some success throwing stickleback type patterns on sinking lines. Cover the water and vary your retrieves until you find a pattern. The Chronimid fishing will pick up with the warmer days coming, but remember to find the bottom and fish these flies just off of it. The channel depths early this year will be a couple feet deeper than the late summer levels, so you may be fishing 13 to 15 ft leaders.
