Spring Creek fun

The Fall river is totally open as of today. The area below the falls can have some good sized fish available and if your the first to show them a fly, you could be rewarded. There are some big fish available above the falls as well. There seems to be more big fish being spotted than small guys. Be stealthy and approach the river slowly and with a low profile. Present your flies carefully. Try and let them rest a bit between fly changes. Throw every thing you have until you find results or just get too frustrated. You should be able to find another fish and try it again. Soft hackled flies in conjunction with larger weighted nymphs, like tungsten caddis or small stones work well. Just try to sink and drift your offering right in front of the fishes face. You may also try some streamers to induce a reaction bite out of those fish that just seem disinterested.
