Saturday Lava Lake Update

The good fishing continues on Lava despite the variable weather and mid-Forty degree water. We landed 20+ each today on small, dark bugs (zebra midges, AP blacks, soft hackle pheasant tails) before the hail & wind chased us off. Most of the 'bows were the typical 12-14 inchers, but there were quite a few in the 15-19" class and very healthy. Although there are decent chironomid hatches during the breaks in the wind and wet, warmer weather should get both the bugs and the fish really going. IMHO, this is still the place to take a youngster fishing over the next month or so. Tight lines -
