Metolius Report

The Metolius has been fishing well lately.  The drake hatches have been fairly consistent, but when the bugs come off in the afternoon, the fish have been responding well.  Caddis and PMD hatches have been decent, but we will most likely see more of these bugs once the drake hatches are done.  If you choose to fish in the evening, have some rusty spinner patterns in your fly box.  These bugs typically start coming off around 7pm, and it can be a lot of fun!  The bull trout fishing has been good as well.  Try a big streamer pattern in some of the deeper pools, and you might just hook into the fish of a lifetime.  As always, be prepared for anything and everything on the Metolius.
