Good Lower Deschutes Fishing on Dries & Nymphs

I've been down on the Lower Deschutes the past couple of days; one trip just for fun with my buddy Joe Hussion and another Jeld-Wen trip following it.  Joe and I saw pretty solid fishing throughout the day on Friday, touching a couple fish at least on each stop.  We fished caddis dries where appropriate, and dredged with Jimmy Legs stonefly nymphs with size 18 droppers if we didn't see any risers.  No pictures to show the fruits of our labors for the day, but that's a good sign that we were into enough fish that we didn't have time to take any photos!

Saturday was an early morning with three of the guys from Jeld-Wen, Matt, Tom & Park.  We had a productive day nymphing from start to finish, and once the boys got their timing down on hooking fish, we saw some really nice Red Side Rainbow Trout to hand.  Again, size 12 Jimmy Legs with a size 18 attractor pattern dropper was the flavor of the day.

Just after lunch, Tom hooked into a Steelhead.  After 3 good runs and a 15 minute fight, though, it came unpinned.  Tom's disappointment was palpable!  Earlier in the day, we hooked a couple of small Bull Trout as well.
