Brookie time!

Just got back from a quick solo trip to Hosmer a few hours ago. It was nice to get back out onto one of my favorite lakes after the long winter! The snow is now completely gone from the day use parking/boat ramp areas. Now is a great time to get some quality fishing on Hosmer before the hoards of canoes and kayaks take over this lake for the summer. I encountered some very hungry brook trout and Atlantic salmon. Hookups came pretty easily just about everywhere I fished, but the big brookies were mostly in the channel. The fishing tapered off by around 3:00 and I left at 4:00. I'd imagine the evening would have fished well, as quite a few sedges were starting to show later in the day. Chironomid and callibaetis hatches had the fish looking up all day.
