The next big show, Golden Stones
Well, there are a few Green Drakes left, but it won't be much longer. The next great hatch here will be the Golden Stones. This is not a time specific hatch, as these bugs will crawl to the banks and climb out of there nymph shucks over the course of the next month or more. The bugs will be present in the branches along the banks for weeks. This is one of the few times you can blindly cover water with dry flies here. Keep moving and bang these bugs around in any likely water that could hold a fish. Accurate casts and good presentations are still important. There will be lots of other bugs hatching here, including PMD's, Caddis and more, but it is good fun to cast the big stones around.
