Starting to pick up

We fished the Upper D on Friday and things were pretty good. After less that stellar reports around the opening weekend, I was afraid we would have a harder time. We arrived around 10:30am and there were already some Green Drakes showing. The little brookies were slapping these things like crazy. Many of the fish are small, so getting this big mayfly in their mouths is a tough proposition. There were some fish hooked, but can't really say we saw any "biggins". You probably would have a better chance nymphing or fishing streamers for the larger brookies that are in these waters. The good news is the mosquitoes were not that bad, the weather was great and the water was in great shape.
