Surprise, surprise, High water, but creeping down
Well, the Crooked is at about 1000cfs, this is down a few hundred over the last week or so. I hope that things start settling out, but we'll see. You won't find that much competition at these levels, but there are always those willing to try. Nymphing the softer inside seams, and watching closely for hatches will be key. The fish have to eat sometime, but it's just up to us to adjust to those tougher conditions and have some reasonable expectations. Midges and the caddis should be showing on occasion, and the dry fly fishing can be good if you find the right water. Look to the softer stuff.
