I fished Lava with some great guys on Saturday we had a large group of 7 anglers in 3 FFO guide boats. Between the three guide boats we landed over 60 fish, a couple over 16 inches and one 19 inches. The midges and mayflies were both active in the mid morning. The dry fly fishing was solid until the wind picked up about 1pm. The nymphing both with indicator's and stripping on a full sinking line is going to be the key for the next couple days with the blue bird forecast. Cloud cover is key for the Mayfly dry fly hatch on Lava. Also stock your fly box with a couple black flying ants.We should have some epic ant hatches in the next couple weeks.
