Tom and Sue warned me that I was in for a day that would test my patience, but how wrong they were. Both of them ended up catching a handful of fish throughout the day, both excelling at nymphing primarily. We had good action on pheasant tail varieties as well as some psycho prince nymphs. The morning started a bit slow on the Crooked River, but by about noon had picked up nicely and Tom & Sue both caught a number of fish.
The Crooked River is such a great resource to have just a stones throw from Bend. It provides our clients with an opportunity to experience fly fishing for the first time with the opportunity to tighten a line on some native rainbow trout. As well, the Crooked can be loads of fun for the experienced angler as fish populations in this beautiful tailwater fishery are healthy, to say the least!
