Good Nymphing and Great Dry Fly Fishing
I got a chance to head out to the Crooked River with Mike and his nephew Austin today. We started down pretty low on the section of river from the dam to the private water. Action on nymph setups was decent in the morning and got better after lunch. Both guys hooked a few fish nymphing and really were fishing effectively by early afternoon when a caddis hatch came off. Action was pretty hot on an X-Caddis pattern, with a fish for nearly every cast. The birds were feeding, fish were rising, and Mike and Austin were both sticking enough fish to complete a great day of fishing on the Crooked River.
