East!
I guided my first day on East this season. Man, it's nice fishing out of a boat all day. No tripping on rocks, dodging rattlesnakes, or looking out for poison oak! The fishing was excellent as was the company. Kory and Travis beat up on the fish pretty much from 10 am until we quit just before 7 pm. The callibaetis hatch came off strong in the morning and quieted down by early afternoon. We caught fish on various callibaetis imitations, but a parachute adams was the top dry of the day. When the fish weren't feeding on top, we moved out into 14-16 feet of water and got plenty of action fishing various nymphs under indicators. The action was pretty much nonstop. Kokanees, browns, and rainbows all found their way into the net today. Most fish were in the 10-15 inch range, but the highlight of the day was Kory's beast of a brown that ate a callibaetis nymph fished under the indicator. The forecast is for more hot weather, which should really get things rolling up there.
