Trout Report

The Lower River has certainly had its moments this past week.  I guided almost all week on the Warm Springs to Trout Creek stretch.  Caddis are still hatching in good numbers and fish are looking up.  If you are willing to fish up under the trees, you will find large fish eating dry flies during the heat of the day.  It's really not all that different from fishing the stonefly hatch, just that we're fishing smaller flies and lighter tippets.  The evening magic hour has been awesome.  Last light dry fly fishing has produced lots of fish.  If you want to nymph, small flies have been the ticket.

Steelhead are being caught in the lower 10 miles.  It's time.
