Atlantic Salmon on Hosmer

If you have never been to Hosmer I'm sorry because it is one of the prettiest lakes around here in Central Oregon. Having the option of catching both Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout is a cool thing. Hosmer of course brings enough people to produce a "Kayak Hatch" so if you don't want your dry fly ran over by a canoe, try going early in the morning or late in the evening. Believe me the fishing is better and you will have much more room. Fishing the channel and around the mouth is always a great place to start. Callibaetis, sedge caddis and damsels are what you need for dries. Don't forget about using Callibaetis spinners and using flurocarbon tippet or leaders. Mix it up with different colors of leech patterns when stripping them in with an intermediate sinking line. Go out and experience Hosmer if you haven't.
