Bull Tout have been making there way into the Metolius River as they follow the spawning run of Kokanee. This means Streames, Streamers, Streamers!!! If you have never done this before you will want a six to eight weight rod with possibly a sink tip. Some of these streamers make me want to put a helmet on when casting these ridiculously large flies haha. Focus your efforts around the bridge 99 area and below when fishing for Bull Trout.
Trout fishing continues to be good as we are seeing lots of micro caddis and still golden stones. Always fishing late is your best time as the fish and bugs seem to cooperate nicely. Make sure to have various patterns of Caddis, BWO's, PMD's, Rusty Spinners, Yellow Salley's, and the big Golden Stone.
