Lava Lakes tough

Well I fished Big Lava Lake a couple days ago with buddy of mine and whooo got our butts kicked. Taking the Kayaks out we tried various methods of stripping in a Callibaetis nymphs and using leech patterns. Coming up not successful we looked for rising fish. Seeing just a few small rises near the weeds, we decided to call it a day and come back some other time. If you go out there keep your eye out for fish and what they are feeding on. Saw lots of terrestrials on the water like ants and other weird bugs. Never a bad idea to try a sinking line that is goes down deeper than an intermediate.  Well good luck if you go out there and hopefully you can prove me wrong!
