Little Bugs
The Fall River requires fine tippet and little bugs. On the fall we have been seeing little baetis patterns in sizes 18 to 22. I typically try to not fish anything bigger than 16 for dries on the fall. With the crystal clear water, you will have plenty of fish coming up to your fly to refuse it at the last second. This can be due to the wrong size of the fly. The fish on the fall like it as natural as possible. If around the hatchery section don't be afraid to try little hoppers. I have had good success fishing little hoppers in the later months of summer. Really fun to fish big dries. As always be observant and take mental notes of whats going on! It's time to stop dreaming and go fishing!
